LCS Spring 2024 Week 2 Preview – Day 2 Betting Picks

League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Spring continues with the final round of Week 2, set to kick off on Sunday, January 28. With just three games played this season, there’s a rather small sample size of games to look over, but enough to see where the teams are headed and to speculate how LCS 2024 Spring will end.

Dignitas vs 100 Thieves Betting Pick

When: Sunday, January 28, 12:00 PST

100 Thieves lost against NRG on the first day of the LCS 2024 Spring Week 2, but they didn’t perform poorly. Though they were the second-best team on the day.

With a 0-3 record, 100 Thieves don’t seem like they’re in a good spot, but they had to play Team Liquid, Cloud9, and NRG Esports, so their schedule wasn’t the easiest. The same can be said for Dignitas, who had to play Cloud9, NRG, and Immortals.

The teams had a similarly difficult road so far, which makes it easier to compare their performances. And objectively, 100 Thieves come out on top. There’s not much to analyse from here 100 Thieves are priced as favourites for a reason, but should probably be at around 1.70.

Cloud9 vs Shopify Rebellion Betting Pick

When: Sunday, January 28, 13:00 PST

Shopify Rebellion lost against Immortals on Saturday, showing what was their worst performance so far. This team is capable of playing much better than what they led us to believe, so I’m not ready to mark them as one of the bottom teams in LCS yet.

Still, expecting them to defeat Cloud9 is way too optimistic.

Cloud9 are on a roll and look like they’re unstoppable. The only team that seems capable of shutting Cloud9’s train down is FlyQuest. Besides them, I don’t see any team causing problems to C9.

The kill handicap line for this match is at double digits, which is fair, but I’m not touching it. As much as Cloud9 are capable of winning by 10 or more kills, we have to show some respect to Shopify Rebellion, regardless of their shaky showing on Saturday.

  • Prediction: None

NRG vs FlyQuest Betting Pick

When: Sunday, January 28, 14:00 PST

NRG and FlyQuest are in a tight race for the second-best team in the league behind Cloud9. They’ve both had solid moments this split and look capable of beating one another.

I like FlyQuest and their innovative drafts, which could be a pain to deal with for any team. They have some issues to iron out, but with time, once the players gel, FlyQuest should look even better.

NRG have continuity on their side, which is an advantage; however, quality-wise, there’s not much to separate the two LCS squads. At plus money, I’m ready to take FlyQuest’s side.

Immortals vs Team Liquid Betting Pick

When: Sunday, January 28, 15:00 PST

Immortals defeated Shopify Rebellion on Saturday quite easily, but this comes with an asterisk. Shopify had a terrible showing on the day, and Immortals were very sloppy in closing out the match despite having a significant lead.

This doesn’t concern me too much since Immortals looked good in gaining that lead.

Team Liquid are priced as favourites for this match, which doesn’t sound right. They’re individually much better and have a higher ceiling, but as noted before, Liquid are suffering from the same issues they had last season.

They’re sloppy and disorganised. To make matters worse, Liquid is not delivering individually, especially mid-laner Eain “APA” Stearns.

I don’t like Liquid at the offered odds, and until they improve, Team Liquid will fade as LCS’s favourites.

  • Prediction: Immortals to win – 3.40 at bet365, 0.5 units
  • Prediction: Immortals +7.5 kills – 2.00 at Unibet, 1 unit
