LCS Spring 2024 Week 6 Preview – Day 1 Betting Picks

League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Spring enters the final week of the regular season on Saturday, March 8, with the first round of the superweek. So far, FlyQuest is the only team with a guaranteed spot in the LCS 2024 Spring Playoffs; however, a couple more could join them by the end of the day.

Dignitas vs Cloud9 Betting Pick

When: Saturday, March 8, 13:00 PST

The LCS games have looked a bit funky after the break, and this might continue into the first round of LCS 2024 Spring Week 6. Still, it’s tough to argue with the esports betting sites, pricing Cloud9 as 1.30 (bet365) favourites for this match.

Cloud9 are miles ahead of any other team in the LCS (barring FlyQuest), and while they had their shaky run before the break, Cloud9 looked much cleaner last week, proving that they’re back at it. Dignitas defeated Shopify Rebellion and lost to 100 Thieves, which isn’t anything too surprising.

They’ve been playing well for their standards and will probably end up with an LCS playoff ticket in their hands. But Dignitas have not shown enough to believe they can upset Cloud9 – unless Cloud9 makes a blunder.

Team Liquid vs FlyQuest Betting Pick

When: Saturday, March 8, 14:00 PST

Team Liquid played what seemed like a competitive series against Cloud9 at the end of LCS 2024 Spring Week 5, but still lost, which only highlights their problems. Not only are Team Liquid weak in the mid lane, they also make too many mistakes in the mid-late game.

I wouldn’t put Liquid in the “garbage” tier, as they’re still much better than bottom LCS teams; however, when compared to Cloud9 and FlyQUest, Team Liquid are simply not at the same level.

FlyQuest technically don’t need to win any more games, but that’s not a way to think about how they’ll approach their next games. As noted, I would consider Cloud9 a better team – and that’ll likely show in the playoffs – but compared to the rest of the league, FlyQuest are much stronger.

At 1.649, FlyQuest is actually priced fairly cheap, and while I would like to see a better offer, even 1.64 is too generous, knowing how vulnerable Team Liquid are.

Immortals vs 100 Thieves Betting Pick

When: Saturday, March 8, 15:00 PST

Priced at 2.72, Imortals are expected to struggle against 100 Thieves, which sounds about right, granted 100 Thieves might have overperformed a bit. They’re definitely doing better than expected and they seem to do well in scrappy games, where they are the most comfortable.

This should be one of those games with plenty of brawls, which definitely benefits 100 Thieves. Statistically, 100 Thieves don’t look good, but this is one of those examples where a team is playing better than what their figures might suggest. Weird how that works.

This is still a very inexperienced team that makes errors, but their style of play seems to work against weaker and equal-quality teams, so I wouldn’t doubt 100T’s chances of beating Immortals, although, at 1.40, they’re too pricey.

NRG vs Shopify Rebellion Betting Pick

When: Saturday, March 8, 16:00 PST

NRG don’t look much different than how they did in 2023 – when they won the LCS title – but they don’t look good. Admittedly, last season in the LCS was a bit of a fiesta, which might explain why NRG did so well despite not showing much. I’m getting a bit off track here.

I’ve not been a big fan of NRG this season, mainly because they’re rarely a good bet. The market consistently overrates them, and yet it doesn’t take much to see that NRG are a mid-table team at best. At times it seems like they’re saving energy for the playoffs, and while this might be the case, NRG have been very unexciting this split.

Shopify Rebellion had its moments early, but they’ve gotten worse as the LCS split progressed. On a more positive note, Shopify Rebellion played well in their recent games and showed some signs of life, but it remains to be seen whether that’ll be enough to defeat NRG.

This one is tough to call, but at 2.75, I like Shopify Rebellion more. They’re not perfect and objectively, Shopify Rebellion have shown less than NRG this season, yet they made some progress in their recent outings.

  • Prediction: Shopify Rebellion to win – 2.75 at bet365, 1 unit
